Up at the US Coast Guard Academy today for a math competition. To fill the endless hours of waiting, Patrick and I took a tour of the campus. Imagine my pleasure upon discovering a collection of old fresnel lenses... amazing, wonderful, fascinating examples of engineering...if you are a light house fan as I am. This one was about 8 ft tall - just the lens! Totally cool!Oh, and Kelly's 4 member team placed 3rd out of the 33 regional teams competing, on to the state competition in March....
