Men & their machines - Part II

We borrowed a backhoe from a friend in NY to do some heavy-duty tearing up. After having the thing schlepped all the way here last night (a story in itself!), no sooner did they back it off the trailer, it quit....in the middle of the driveway...blocking all our cars in. New day & the boys are outside obsessing over their machine.....

Despite much determined contemplating and racing around for parts, still not working by the end of the day.....

So finally managed to tow it out of the driveway and onto the grass....
a new lawn ornament or will they get it running tomorrow?!

The Frog Bridge

A favorite bridge in CT, it has giant patina frogs on all four corners. The bridge sits at the entrance to an old factory (textile) town, thus the spools. No time to stop on the bridge, so had to snap while zipping across.

I was sitting in the car playing with the camera during half time and somehow managed to get this ghost affect of the girls and Coach Carufe. The rearview mirror & my camera lens lined up in some weird way that I could repeat the effect over & over. The fence was actually between me & them, but for some reason ended up in the background....not sure how I did it, but thought it was pretty cool none-the-less. Easy pick for today!
